  SOS Hermann Gmeiner College located in the Mirpur-13 of the capital was established in 1986 by the SOS-Kinderdorf International, headquartered in Innsbruck, Austria, a Non-Government Organization. The foundation stone was laid by the former PresidentHussain Muhammad Ershad. In 2010, the college was ranked among the top ten institutions of the country for its academic performance in Secondary School Certificate examination.[1]

  The environment and education system was good but day by day education system is broken down. There was no political involves before 4 years ago with admission system but now its also involved which will be harmful for future education system. There is no sibling quota but it need.

  One of the most reputed schools in Dhaka for its qualified teachers and quality education. Orphan children are supposed to possess the lion's share of the total students as it is run by a charity foundation and the institution is named after that donor. This institution emphasizes much on extra- curricular activities following their academic calendar. Discipline is strictly maintained here. Students are encouraged to participate in different national and international competitions. However, a recent opinion is going on that the standard of education is being poor day by day for the political involvement and nepotism in case of admitting students without considering their merit.
