Armed Forces Medical Institute is an educational institute where graduation in nursing and other health technology courses and some postgraduation courses are run. It is one of the best medical institution in Bangladesh. Environment is very nice and has a facility of library with a huge collection of medical textbooks, journals and so on. Their strict rules and regulations make the student more prepared to get success in their professional life.

Armed Forces Medical Institute (AFMI) is the premier educational institute of the Army Medical Corps of Bangladesh Army. Immediately after liberation in 1971 to cope with the expansion of Armed Forces and to ensure efficient medical support at all level, it was felt necessary to establish an institute for imparting training to Army Medical Corps, Army Dental Corps and Armed Forces Nursing Services officers and other paramedics on various professional matters. It came into being on 2 January 1976.

It is one of the best medical colleges in Bangladesh in the sense of Administration and teaching quality. There are some limitations of this Medical College. The students of this Medical College have less opportunity to practice then any other Government Medical Collages in Bangladesh. That is why the students are less less experienced than any other students in Bangladesh. Bus it is very tough to be selected in this Medical College. Those who are trying to be selected as cadet ,they have to face ISSB that is a very tough exam.
